I think that you will sense a growing mataurity in my writing as you read more of my poems. My poems touch on a number of subjects such as life, death, nature, love of family, and love of God while others reflect on just ordinary things that each of us deal with in our lives. I hope that reading these poems causes each of us to think more deeply about who we are and who we want to become. Book Summary:

The poems within my book have been accumulating over a span of sixty-six years. Perhaps the thoughts, words and feelings were not immediately stored anywhere, except my mind and heart, but eventually they were written down on paper, so I would not forget them. Through these poems I have, hopefully, managed to express the Christian feelings and beliefs I have always felt should be shared with others. As I have often said to myself, “Words are just words, until they are heard or read by someone else.” I have always written and posted my poems on-line, with only black letters on a white background. No colors, pictures or music to distract the reader; or affect their reaction to my words. I grew-up listening to the lyrics of songs, before music videos began to influence our feelings and thoughts about the words being sung. I liked my mental images much better. I still do. I just want the reader of my words to supply/apply some of their own thoughts, feelings, and images; and in doing so, make each poem their own.

The Lord's Prayer

By David Pawson
  • Format : Pdf, ePub, Mobi, Kindle
  • Publisher : Anchor Recordings Ltd.
  • Isbn : N.a
  • Pages : 81
  • Category : Religion
  • Reads : 711
  • File Pdf: the-lord-s-prayer.pdf

Book Summary:

The author writes: The so-called 'Lord's Prayer' is full of surprises. For one thing, the Lord could never have used it himself, with its central and longest plea for forgiveness. Though he gave it as a model for private prayer, it has become the most common corporate liturgy of the church. Its brevity is striking, consistent with his criticism of pagan devotions with their 'many words'. Above all, it is comprehensive, covering all the basic concerns of a Christian, while clearly indicating that these should cover God's needs (honour and loyalty) before his or her own (food and forgiveness). Even though it begins with God, whom Jesus called 'my' Father, but we must say 'our' Father, it ends with the devil: deliver us from the evil (one). It is for weekdays rather than Sundays. Try using it for a month.
